Linux kindle reader8/30/2023 ![]() ![]() Some people love the paperwhite's flush screen despite the worse contrast. Some people love the physical buttons, others find them useless and cumbersome. This is completely a personal choice, so my advice is to go to a store and try them for yourself. There are two main things that only the libra 2 has: physical buttons and a crispier screen. You can use it on non-Chrome based browsers as well. You can find all your books in the cloud with the web interface of Amazon Cloud Reader. Kindle books on Linux desktop You can do this as well, all thanks to Amazon. If you want to read ebooks on your Android phone or tablet, you will need to install the Android Open Source Project (AOSP), which is a fork of Google’s Android. Fixed Kindle Reader On Linux Ubuntu Fixed Kindle Reader On Linux John R. This means that anyone can download them and use them for their own purposes. In terms of hardware, the libra 2 has a slightly larger screen and the paperwhite is slightly faster. How to download Kindle e-books from Amazon Kindle is the most popular ebook reader on the market. So basically Kindle wins in the store department, and Kobo wins in the reading software and ability to import external books. The built-in reader is very good (but I prefer the one from Kindle), but you can also install other readers (koreader, plato) very easily. Kobo's store is not as good (but still the second best), but it is easier to import books obtained from other stores or the internet, and in some countries you can even get books from the library for free. The kindle reader is in my opinion better than kobo's. It is a bit more complicated to read books purchased from other stores (but still doable, you just have to convert the format), and even more complicated to export your purchased books to another device (but doable as well). Kindle is just very easy to use if you stay in their ecosystem: huge amount of books available and cheaper prices. ![]() In terms of software, both are very similar. If you mostly read mangas, go for a 8inch device or larger (kobo sage comes to mind). As others have said, the choices are kobo libra 2 and kindle paperwhite ( ). In my opinion this is the sweetspot size, portable enough, best comfort for books, large enough for mangas. You mostly want to read text but also some manga, and you mostly read at home, go for a 7inch device. You only want to read books, and you mostly read on the go or outside, go for a more portable model (6 inches): either the kindle basic or the kobo clara 2e (video comparison ). One important thing that you need to decide is the size of the screen. Like the others, if all you want to do is read (no android apps, no taking notes with a pen) I agree that kindle or kobo are the better choices. ![]()
